Herbal Medicine is a powerful, but gentle, way to medicate the body, and restore physical and energetic balance.
Herbal remedies and Teas are produced from whole plant material. This allows the synergistic physical & vibrational relationships between individual components to remain active, and gives herbal medicines the ability to heal illness patterns safely, in a balanced way, with little or no adverse effects.
Being plant material, herbal medicine can also provide nutritional support, the most common physical culprit when disease patterns manifest.
This holistic quality of a herbal remedy makes it my first choice over pharmaceutical medicine, in most cases.
Pharmaceuticals are made by isolating single chemical components, reproducing them synthetically and attempting to affect a change in one particular part or process within the body. There is no regard for the unbalancing effects created in other parts of the body (side-effects).
I’m not denying the effectiveness of many pharmaceuticals, but if I have a gentler, more holistic, option that is just as effective, I’d choose that first.
Holistic medicine, as much as possible, looks at the ‘whole’ of a thing.
That means, the whole person (with all your layers), or the whole food (unprocessed), or the whole herb, and so on.
In my opinion, the holistic approach is the best way to achieve balance, well-being and true joy.
Herbal remedies are generally natural & free of synthetic chemicals, but you mustn’t underestimate them.
They are very powerful and concentrated medicines and can also have unwanted, or unexpected, effects if used in contra-indication to the biochemical patterns present within your body, or without consideration of other medicines you may be taking.
Always take advice from a qualified herbalist before treating yourself medicinally with herbs.
